Yasutaka Oohashi was born in Tsubame-shi, Niigata and graduated from Yoshida High School. He is currently based in Niigata-shi, Niigata. He joined Gyokusendo in 1997, following his father’s path. After ten years of apprenticeship, he became an independent craftsman and established his brand in 2007. To perpetuate traditional tsuiki craftsmanship, he insists on forging with a copper sheet from scratch to completion. Yasutaka collaborates with numerous designers to create and promote various types of copperware.
