Master Wu Chi Kai started his apprenticeship with his father, a neon sign installation master, in the early 1980s when he was 17 years old. Throughout his career, he created countless classic neon signs for Hong Kong, including the triangular neon sign for the Bank of China Tower and the hemisphere-shaped neon sign at the top level of Langham Place. He has been in the trade for more than 30 years and is one of the last remaining neon masters in Hong Kong.

He now mainly produces indoor displays and small promotional items but has also started to create installation art, working with various artists and participating in exhibitions. From days of glory to decline, Master Wu has been rooted in Hong Kong and is committed to transforming and passing on the local characteristics of neon signs.
