“Every artistic creation starts from rationality, but is communicated through emotion. What is challenging in the process is how to express ourselves in a truthful way.”
SingChin Lo graduated from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University School of Design, majoring in Fashion Design. He has developed a keen interest in works with complicated design details since he was young and he enjoys the process from scratch to finish. He understood that design should be a constant process of falling down and getting up, and through the experience, he was able to find his sense of existence.
SingChin received the Young Talent Award by the Hong Kong Fashion Designers Association when he first began his fashion career. Since then, he has won numerous awards, such as the Merit Award of the DFA Design for Asia Awards in 2010, and was shortlisted for major fashion competitions, including the finalist of the New Designer Fashion Grand Prix in Tokyo in 2006, and the Hong Kong Fashion Week New Fashion Collection Award in 2007. During the same year, SingChin launched his own fashion brand “PLOTZ”, combining fabrics, textures and colours with his experience and feelings in life. In 2008, SingChin represented Hong Kong and participated in the INFASHION Asia-Pacific Week fashion show in Berlin, Germany. He participated in the “Popping UP” exhibition organized by the Hong Kong Arts Centre in 2010. In 2016, he held a joint exhibition with the Hong Kong Heritage Museum, combining traditional craftsmanship with fashion design.
