Graduated from Graphic Design at George Brown College and Visual Merchandising Arts and Design and Textiles at Seneca College in Toronto, Canada, Kammy Wong has had many years of experience working in different areas of design. She is currently engaged in product design, floral design, research perspective and installation art, and promoting the development and preservation of the art of Chinese penjing.
Influenced by her father Master Wong Chau Shing’s love for nature, Kammy shares the same affection and instinctively turns to natural elements as a source of inspiration. When she was a child, she often collected the branches and leaves that were cut off during the pruning process and used them to create different scenes and toys. Her multifaceted creations, including ceramic works, clothing products, and home decorations, all embody the aesthetics of Lingnan penjing.
Kammy now hopes to inherit her father’s knowledge and techniques of Lingnan penjing, and attempts to combine traditional techniques with contemporary design and craftsmanship to create unique works of art. She aspires to perpetuate and popularize the craft of Lingnan penjing through the integration of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary creativity.
