Trained in gem-setting craft through the traditional “master and apprentice” structure, Jimmy Hui has been in the industry for over thirty years. Apart from diamond mounting, master Hui is similarly adept with jadeite and other precious stones. 

Master Hui began learning gem-setting at the age of sixteen. After three years of apprenticeship and with the encouragement of his master, he dedicated himself to specialize in stone settings. He worked at different jewelry companies in Hong Kong and Japan in the early years, where he perfected his diamond setting techniques. Later, he was invited by an Indonesian jewelry company to teach diamond setting techniques. 

Upon returning to Hong Kong, Master Hui opened his workshop. With his experience and perseverance, he always strives for perfection in each piece of jewelry. He is currently a craftsman-in-residence at Dawn Jewellery, responsible for custom jewelry and gem-setting.
