Wood Tectonics－The Notch

Extracted from a tree trunk of Acacia confusa, “The Notch” showcases the conventional cut which tree workers typically used to cut down a tree in a controlled direction. Workers would make a back cut and sometimes utilize a wedge made from other woods to facilitate the process of saw cutting. This process marks the ending of the life of a tree and the beginning of another, waiting for craftsmen to turn it into another form.
