Huang Shan-lo, a master of neon art in Taiwan, was born in Baoshan, Hsinchu County, in 1961. He moved to Hsinchu City in 1971 and discovered the beauty of neon lights in 1974. He established a neon advertising company in 1985 and his own neon studio in 1995. Utilising his accumulated aesthetic knowledge and experience in neon light research, development and teaching, he began exhibiting his neon art throughout Taiwan. Several of his works have been acquired by overseas museums. In 2014, he relocated his studio back to his birthplace in Baoshan, with a vision of creating a beautiful neon world. Master Huang is renowned for his deep understanding of traditional neon techniques and his commitment to preserving the craft’s heritage with innovative design thinking.
