Cabinet with Rattan Baskets

Cecilia and Barnard applied complex weaving techniques such as twisting and curling to create a wave-like overlapping effect and to enhance the toughness of the basket. Presenting the traditional aesthetics, the curling technique at the edges plays an important role in supporting the handle. Three rattan baskets are placed in a solid wood cabinet assembled by Ken Chow’s mortise and tenon technique, presenting them like drawers.
